This sort of thing could happen if they introduce an fps element to eve, which I doubt will happen, although I don't believe CCP have ruled it out.

2. factory components there should be different factory components needed to make a item or ship Assembly arms, assembly drones, heavy press, conveyer belts, cutting saws, soldering equipment ect. Ect. And there should be different types of the same components you would need skills to run this components (but you say dam I am going to need a lot skills just to be able to build a battleship!!!) just read line 4.
I absolutely agree with the idea of factory components. This has already been implemented by the R.A.M (Robotic Assembly Modules) to a limited extent. I don't see why this can't be implemented on a larger scale. I don't think increasing the number of skills for manufacturing will do much. Basically, you invest the time to get all necessary skills to level 5 and then that's it - nothing more to do.

3. A fitting window just like the ring of slots in ship fittings room would be needed. You would put your blue print in the center of the rings and as soon as you do that the slots around it would light up telling you what factory components are needed for building that item. Then you place your components over the lighted up slots they would then appear in the huge room and as soon as you press start you can see your factory go to work. Or maybe you can have two fitting windows for two assemble lines who knows?
That'd be a neat graphical implementation of step 2.

There needs to be a factory gang window where you can invite your corp. mates to help you build a battleship. Say you need ten skills to make a battleship and you only have 2 of those skills then you get three other players that have the rest of the skills you need you guys all go to gang window the factory will recognize that all the skills needed are present and the factory will let your group stare building the battleship. ThatĘs what I call a real developing team how cool is that and there so much more you could do with this factory gang window thing.
I think the best way to implement teamwork is to have components as I mentioned in my post (item 3). Add the need for pre-manufactured components and dramatically increasing manufacture times. The result is one player cannot manufacture the biggest items alone. Component manufacture could be done freelance by buying components off the market, in conjunction with a corp member, outsourced...

Well you know I agree with you there. There needs to be something more to this though, because minerals -> items -> items only adds a step, no complexity. People would argue "why can't I just put *all* the minerals in one factory and wait?". That's where my idea of variety of factories comes from.. ____________________________________________ Ideas Lab - Forum Search Feature - Sign me! |
